Below is a tarot reading for all the lovelies who put their lives on the Internet. This is a reading to help guide anyone who shares her experiences online, from simply posting pictures on Facebook to maintaining a full-blown lifestream website.

Publicly sharing our experiences can be exhilarating and empowering, but it can also be confusing and draining. I hope this reading can provide some insight into the rhyme and reason behind lifestreaming.

Interpretations of this Celtic Cross spread are largely inspired by Mary K Greer’s Tarot for Yourself.

Lifestreamers, this week it’s time to be bold!

1. Our current situation: 10 of Pentacles reversed. Rejecting tradition. Organizational and institutional problems. Lifestreaming is a non-traditional thing to do. It goes against family and institutional settings.

2. Our obstacles as lifestreamers: Queen of Swords reversed. Hypercritical, frustrated ambitions, dependent, can’t make decisions, lack of backbone. A lifestreamers obstacle is being hypercritical. A lot of us get into lifestreaming because we don’t know where else to turn. Lifestreaming can be used as a crutch to help make decisions, but that might make us dependent on it for the wrong reasons.

3. The tools we have to work with: 10 of Cups reversed. Problems with home or relationships. Arguments, disruptions in the family. Disintegration of dreams, rejecting family values. That’s what we have to work with: being non-traditional. We are at a generational cutoff point. Now is not the time to worry about what your family thinks–they will love you anyway.

4. What is fading into the past: 2 of swords reversed. Resisting a balance of power. Breaking through complacency, off the fence. Breaking the peace. Yeah, we’re putting our lives online, we’re taking power into our own hands. The lifestream movement has started.

5. What is hanging over our heads: Death reversed. Resisting the ending of something, prolonging pain and distress, preventing new growth, inertia, pessimism, near death experience, fascination with death. Lifestreamers may fear death and stagnation and inertia. We are afraid to stop growing!

6. The future: The Tower reversed. Danger averted, freedom from constraints, aspects of life crumbling, pressure intensified, cleaning up debris. Lifestreaming is how you get free from your constraints. This is how you crumble away the parts of your life you don’t want anymore. By putting your life online, you see which parts of your life you want to remove. There is increased pressure from living online as well. But this is how to incrementally take shit out of your life that you don’t want, giving you freedom from constraints.

7. How we see ourselves: The Sun. Enlightenment, clarity, things previously hidden have come into light of day. By lifestreaming we get this clarity, revelation and enlightenment. By putting our lives on the Internet we are able to see patterns previously invisible or unnoticeable.

8. How others see us: The Page of Cups reversed. Not wanting to be vulnerable. Easily swayed or influenced. Fearing vulnerability. Others may see lifestreamers as wanting to control too much. Lifestreaming can be seen as a calculated way to approach life, and wanting to control everything so that you’re not vulnerable.

9. Our hopes and fears: The Page of Swords reversed. At a loss for words, feeling vulnerable, misunderstandings, trouble with the law. As Lifestreamers,we are afraid that we will be vulnerable, or have nothing to say, or get in trouble with the law or cause misunderstandings. We are afraid of being attacked and seen as imposters.

10. The results of choosing this path: The Empress. Matermal urges. Grounding your energy. Flow of creative thought. Making new combinations. Desire to give birth to something remarkable. Awareness of your own sense of beauty and grace. Attarction and charm. Promotion of growth for health and well being.

This card is about how lifestreaming will slowly remove the things from your life that you don’t need. It’s going to crumble away  the bullshit and tear down structures that are not important. If you do that, you end up with creative flow (if often undisciplined, that’s where the coding part of lifestreaming comes in!) Attraction and charm, seeing the abundance and harmony in everything around you. It’s about being observant and taking the time to pay attention to details, and letting your creativity flow without being afraid. It’s looking in the mirror and being ok with it.

As lifestreamers, we have to beware of being hypercritical, frustrated, or not able to make our own choices. We need to be bold and make our own decisions, not rely on lifestreaming to make them for us. We have big questions about the meaning of life but we hope lifestreaming might answer some. Your family will still love you if you put your life on the internet. This is the point where the paradigm is shifting, right now, today. Other people might think we try to control too much. We’re afraid of the law, looking stupid, and getting in danger, but you can’t live your life in fear. Do this and you will find creative flow, and awareness of your beauty and grace.

Good luck this week! Say what you have to say without being afraid of being judged. Your family will still love you!
