Welcome to Tuesday Tips, the weekly guide to putting positive thinking into practice. This week the tips are about having the confidence to live the life you desire, and the presence to see you already are. Many of this week's ideas were inspired by Abraham-Hicks, who reminds us, "Nobody creates big things without big desire."
1. Download Vine.
If you have an iPhone, this 6-second video sharing app will help you see your life as a movie and you as the star. Follow me @jessicamullen!
2. Talk yourself up!
The Blogcademy puts it best: "Talk yourself up, or nobody else will!" Be excited about who you are and what you do. Enthusiasm is contagious!
3. Help others shine.
Look for the best in others, and look for ways you can help them reach their potential. The more you look for their positive aspects, the more they will show.
4. Look for things to appreciate in the now.
You are your now. So when you look for things to appreciate, you're actually appreciating yourself, increasing your own value.
5. Think and feel, then think and feel, then think and feel.
Abraham gives us simple instructions for living in the now: ask yourself, "How do you feel when you think that thought, right now?" If you feel good, keep going down that path. If the thought feels bad, drop it and never think of it again. Your emotions are your guidance system to life.
6. Don't think you're annoying and others won't annoy you.
If you fear being annoying, you probably find a lot in your reality that annoys you. But when you feel your best, neither you nor your reality irritates. Don't give a fuck whether anyone thinks you're annoying, and you'll probably stop caring if anyone else is either.
7. Write your blog like you're talking to a friend.
Another gem from Gala Darling at the Blogcademy is "Good blogging should feel like someone writing you a letter."
8. Boost your confidence with lifestreaming.
Every time you post anything about yourself online, you're gifting the world with your presence. No matter what it is, it will help you see your life in a better light, because at least now there is art about your life online.
9. If you want enough money to do whatever you want, do whatever you want and the money will come.
A friendly reminder from Abraham: Money doesn't create a happy life, a happy life creates money. When you let yourself do what you want, you release resistance and allow more abundance into your life.
10. Aim to feel like a sexy car!
After buying an Audi R8, Esther Hicks (who brings us Abraham) realized that like a car engine, "Your emotions should purr." Like a well-oiled machine, you can tune your vibration (mood) to a satisfying thrum. You can feel when your machines need some TLC, so give yourself the same treatment. Don't know how to get your emotions to purr? Just smile, take some deep breaths, and allow life to tell you what to do.
11. In pain? Think of it as change.
My badass fitness instructor Kristy always tells us during the most painful parts of the workout, "That feeling is change! Think of it like that and it's bearable." When you're facing contrast and challenges, it hurts. When life feels hardest, know you're going through change, and change is always good. Let go of whatever thoughts you're thinking that hurt so much and you'll see how much you've already transformed.
12. Practice the feeling!
What's "the feeling"? It's a sensation of knowing. It's when your path lights up before you and wild horses couldn't stop you from doing what you know is right. It's when life is effortless and exciting, yet peaceful. Think of the things you're best at. Relationships? Creativity? Music? Friendship? Health? You know how it's easy to do the things you're good at. Take time to focus on that feeling and it wil spill over into all the areas of life you want to be easy.
13. Trust the flow and don't think about it.
Life will always bring you to the right place at the right time. Want to get there faster? Trust you're on the way, and stop thinking about whether you're there or not. You're already on the way! It's like planting a seed—you trust it will grow, you don't dig it up.
Meditation is like mind hygiene. If I do it regularly, I don't have things suddenly happen that knock me down and force me to be still. I like meditating because it reminds me I don't actually need anything to be happy, I can just choose the feeling now.
15. Be still and know.
The more still you can be, the more you can see. Stillness is your connection to infinity.
16. Accept as if you had chosen it.
Accept—then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life. ~ Eckart Tolle in The Power of Now
Whatever you're attracting into your life is something you are in control of. Accept what comes, and know you have the power to change it, by embracing it and not resisting it. Everything in your life is trying to help you and show you the way.
17. Remind yourself, "This is it! This is all there is."
Right now is all there is. There is no heaven, or later, or there, or before. There is only now. When you can see that this right Now is all you have to work with, it's a lot easier to get creative within your design constraints. How can you feel good, right now? Take a deep breath, say I love you to anything bothering you, and ask the flow for your next step.
