A Guided Meditation for Weightloss

This is my first 15 minute, topical guided meditation. It's $5 for the video file, an audio version and a PDF transcript.

I grew up thinking that being smart meant thinking a lot. Probably most of us did. Now I know thinking does nothing but make problems bigger. You can't solve a problem with the same attitude that created it.

To clarify, thoughts create. And when we think about the past or the future, we create them. Often we worry, and create negative experiences for ourselves.

When we are present, not thinking about the past or future, we are experiencing life. There is no thought in the present. The present is a single line with no space. Thoughts take up space. They instantly pull you into the past or future.

This doesn't mean thinking is bad!

When we allow ourselves to be present, we connect with ourselves, our whole, our god, our source. We are part of the puzzle, yet knowing the big picture.

Every time we allow ourselves to take a break from thinking and be present, our mood skyrockets. And when we start feeling better, we automatically attract better feeling thoughts.

Those thoughts have the solutions to the problems. Those thoughts are insights received in the present, not your brain going mudding in the future.

Thinking and Weightloss

Weightloss is not hard. Thinking about it is.

Your thoughts about your weight, your body, and your health are so close to you, so ingrained, that it's daunting to try to break up the thought patterns that created your current circumstances.

The good news is, you don't have to break up your old thought patterns. You can just choose to stop thinking and be present.

Diets work at first because if you follow them, you're being present with your food. You're taking note of serving sizes. You're being deliberate in your choices. You experience your food.

But they never last because it's easy to get lazy with our thinking. We allow our eyes to glaze over again and stop being present about food.

You don't have to go on a diet. You don't have to think about food at all. You can just choose to stop thinking and be present.

It's fucking hard if you're out of practice! But don't worry, you already know how to do it. You did it from the time you were born until maybe 6, and then intermittently since then. The best way to stop thinking? Play!
