Breathe out and feel so excited because I’m about to tell you the meaning of life

Guys, lately, I’ve been really stressed. I want things to go one way and they go another way. I want more money, and I push it away. I want new circumstances, and I push them away. I’m stressed and I want things to go my way. And it bothers me and I worry and I wake up feeling annoyed. So I talk to my wife about this. We talked and talked and talked and tried to figure out, what should we do? Should we keep talking about this situation? Keep drawing attention to it so we make it worse? What can you do when you’ve buried yourself so deep in a situation that you can’t seem to find a way out of it? It’s stressful and annoying and you just wish you could run away from it!

Well, we have found the answer, which may come as no surprise to you. That answer is Silent Counting!

Lighten up! It’s not serious. It’s just for fun. Your mind makes everything so serious but it’s really not! Your life really isn’t that bad! My life really isn’t that bad! We just get caught up focusing on these things that we blow up with our minds and make them bigger and bigger and bigger until they overwhelm us and make us cry and feel like we’re trapped! And that’s the core of the issue. I’ve been feeling trapped and maybe you have too.

Breathe in and begin to feel free!
Breathe out and know the solution’s right in front of you

If you feel trapped, and it’s beginning to manifest in your external circumstances—you feel trapped by people, you feel trapped by places, you feel trapped by relationships, you feel trapped by financial circumstances—if you feel trapped, it’s only because your mind is tricking you into thinking you’re trapped. There is a way out. There is freedom. The freedom is really easy—you just count silently in your head. The reason why this works is because the counting frees you from the trap of your mind.

Breathe in and feel free!
Breathe out and know that you can release yourself from this trap, right here, right now, with a little silent counting.

When you count silently in your head, you give yourself distance from your thoughts. Only your thoughts can make you feel bad, so when you count silently in your head from 0 to 100 over and over or backwards from 100 to 0, when you do this, when you count, you create distance from your thoughts and those feelings of being trapped start to fall away. When you count silently in your head, you place your attention on your inner self, your inner world, your inner source, your connection to source. When you count silently in your head, you are allowing yourself to be your reason for feeling good. You’re keeping your mind and your thoughts off of this world. When you think about this world and all that’s wrong with it, you make it worse. You draw attention to it. You blow it up. You expand it because what you resist persists and what you focus on expands. You gotta just get away from those thoughts. You gotta give yourself some distance from those thoughts that are creating this trap.

Breathe in and know you can escape from the trap today!
Breathe out and feel so excited because you’re escaping from the trap today!

All it takes is some distance from your thoughts so you can wake up in the present moment and see life already is the way you want it to be.

So let’s practice together. We’ll practice getting ourselves out of these traps. With silent counting, it gives your mind distance. It gives yourself—who you really are—distance from your thoughts. When you have that distance, you remember who you really are and you remember life already is the way you want it to be. You’re already safe and everything’s already perfect and in its place and everything’s fun and there’s nothing to worry about. All this can be yours with a little silent counting!

Together we will be free from this trap! Here’s how I count:

This is what I promise to you I will be doing in my head today instead of thinking those thoughts about being trapped. And within myself, I will create the freedom that I desire in my external world. You don’t have to care what’s going on outside of this moment, outside of yourself. You can go within and relax.

Breathe in and open up to receiving
Breathe out and celebrate how far you’ve come!

In this moment, everything’s working out for you. In this moment, this is where you’re meant to be. Everything that’s ever been created has led up to right now. In this moment you are safe.

Breathe in and say “I love myself!”
Breathe out and let go of all of your judgements. Let go of all of your worries. Let go of all of your hatred for yourself and for others.

In this moment, there is only love.

Breathe in and be at peace with what is
Breathe out and feel better already

There’s nothing to worry about. There’s nothing you have to do. You can just relax and enjoy where you’re at right now.

Breathe in and forgive yourself
Breathe out and let go of the past version of yourself.

In this moment, you are brand new. In this moment, you are a completely new person. In this moment, you have a fresh slate.

Breathe in and feel so relieved
Breathe out and relax because now you have a fresh slate.

This is the fresh start that you’ve been wanting and it’s happening right now in this moment.

Breathe in and celebrate your new beginning
Breathe out and let go of your past self

Let go of your past history. Let go of what’s happened. There’s only right now.

Breathe in and say “I love myself”
Breathe out and say “I don’t give a fuck about the past. I don’t give a fuck about what I’ve done.”

In this moment, everything is fresh, everything is new, everything is perfect and in its place, and you can now relax and enjoy the vacation that is the present moment.

The Surrender Experiment

Stormy!
I just finished reading Michael Singer's The Surrender Experiment, in which the author decides to stop making decisions based on his internal likes and dislikes, and instead just say yes to whatever the flow of life brings him. The book was deeply moving, because of the constant examples Singer provided regarding his experience. Every single time he put his personal preferences aside and just cooperated with the unfolding of life, life brought him a miracle.

Reading the book made me see how hard it has been for me to surrender lately. I've been very hung up on specific preferences and in a lot of pain when life doesn't go my way. Singer encouraged me to go life's way instead.

For example, there was a stray cat in the front yard yesterday. Six weeks old. Begging for food and water. Wanting to be held and pet! I knew I shouldn't feed it but I couldn't resist. It was so hungry.

It was hot out. The baby kitty started coming in the garage to lay on the cool concrete. My cats weren't very happy about this and spent the whole day in hiding.

I posted about the cat on Facebook. Can someone please adopt her? A friend of mine wanted him and promised to clear it with her husband then pick the cat up.

But the husband said no. It was getting dark and I couldn't keep the kitten inside with my cats. It was beginning to rain.

I put the kitten in the bush tearfully. Our 7yo neighbor was assisting. She picked the kitty back up and said, "I can put her in my garage just for a few minutes to keep her dry."

Within minutes her mom texted saying the cat was in their bathroom, and they were going to look for a home for it. I was beyond relieved.

Then this morning, the neighbors said they were keeping the cat! They took it to the vet, found out it was a healthy 6-week-old boy, and all the world rejoiced!

Because I surrendered to the flow. I let go of my preference of my friend coming to get the cat. I let go of my preference of taking care of the cat for the night. I let go of my preference to rescue baby animals. I let the cat go, and the next instant, able hands picked him up.

So much of your pain is caused by preferring things to go your way. What if you let go of your preference of which way things go?

Today, practice surrendering. Every time life asks you to do something you don’t want to do, say yes. Every time something happens that you don’t like, say “Yes, thank you!” Every time you want something and it seems like you’re not going to get it, say to yourself, “I surrender my preference”.

Surrender your preference as to what people are around you. Surrender your preference as to what you do today. Allow life to lead the way.

Now you can go with the flow. Whatever’s happening in your life, it’s natural. Whatever forces are coming to you, are coming to help you. Whatever’s happening, even though you might not like it, you might not prefer it, it’s the natural flow and it’s here to help you.

I prefer to stay home all day but i surrender my preference because I’m saying yes to opportunities. I prefer to be alone most of the time but I surrender my preference of being alone most of the time because I’m surrounded by people.

You’re going to resist the surrender thing at first, but just try it in the moment when something happens that you don’t want, that you don’t want to do. Say you’re invited to do something you don’t want to do. You can say no, but imagine you surrender your preference and you say yes. It’s life bringing you a gift and the more times you say yes, the more opportunities you give life to express itself and bring you what you ultimately want. Over time, after enough surrendering, you’ll see that life is being created for you not by you.

Breathe out and surrender that preference

You’ll feel good either way because you decided to. When you let go of your preference and decide to feel good either way, what you want will come to you.

Wouldn't it be nice to get to go out to dinner? Wouldn't it be nice to do that proposal today? Wouldn't it be nice to feel compassionate towards myself and others? Wouldn't it be nice to feel the flow? Wouldn't it be nice to practice surrendering all day? Wouldn't it be nice to get better at surrendering today? Wouldn't it be nice to trust the process of life and just let go? Wouldn't it be nice to have the perfect drive? Wouldn't it be nice to find the perfect things to eat? Wouldn't it be nice to be nice to myself?

I'm switching to the version of reality I prefer. In the reality I prefer, I'm doing me. In the reality I prefer, I feel good about life. I am at peace with what is. I am making my best work. I am in the right place at the right time. I am surrendering to the flow of life. I am letting life live me. I am light. I am free. I am kind and compassionate and fun and confident and magickal. I am doing everything right. I am relaxing into the flow. I don't give a fuck! I'll be happy either way!

In the reality I prefer, I am one with life. I am letting go of my resistance. I am already the person I want to be. I am at peace with what is in this moment. I am light. I am allowing well being to flow. I am allowing myself to say yes and thank you. I am allowing myself to have fun and be fun. I am allowing myself to receive. I am open to receiving. I am generous and giving and I am allowing life to flow through me. I am doing my best. I am doing all I can. I am enough. I am doing enough. I am being enough. I love and accept myself exactly the way I am. I am letting go. I am surrendering. I love what happens either way. I will be happy either way.

In the reality I prefer, I am already a success. I am connected to source energy. I am conscious. I am allowing and I am aware. I am letting go. I am free! I am a magnet for opportunities and money and love and light. I am a match to love and success. Life already is the way I want it to be.

You don’t owe anyone else anything. You are the creator of this world and while it’s nice to act with love and kindness and compassion, you don’t have to be worried in your mind about what other people are thinking or doing. You can just focus on yourself, loving yourself, and not caring about what anyone else is doing!

Breathe in and be the creator!
Breathe out and feel confident because you’re the creator!

You’re the creator! Whatever you project is what you get back! So if you’re worried about what other people think, they’ll be worried about what you think, and it’s a mess. Decide right now you don’t give a fuck what other people think! You don’t give a fuck what other people are doing! You’re DOING YOU.

Let this be your mantra today. Whenever you’re starting to get stressed about someone else, whenever you’re starting to worry about someone else’s plans: go back to your breath and remember your mantra:

Relax your body. Welcome back to the present moment where all of your power lies.

It’s time to wake up in the dream, right here, right now. Did you know you can meditate any time, anywhere, just by watching your breath? You can spend all day following your breath and you’ll feel so much calmer, so relieved that you’re not trapped in your thoughts. The simplest way to meditate that I’ve learned since yesterday is (while you’re breathing)

If you follow your breath, you’ll notice what you’re thinking, because anything that isn’t “breathe in” or “breathe out,” you’ll hear it.
