The one thing you were born with is the knowing that you are god. Sometimes you forget that, because you get caught up in the illusion of reality. But deep down, you know you are special. You know you are powerful. You know you are perfect. And you know there is much more to life than what you can see.
We are all god. Everything around you–that’s god. This moment is god. When I learned that “God doesn’t make junk” in Catholic school, I had no idea how true it was. Everything, whether your mind judges it to be good or bad, is an expression of god in physical form. There is nothing that isn’t god.
Two nights ago I read philosopher Alan Watts’ creation story that he told children. It is the clearest, most plausible creation story I’ve ever heard. I finally feel at peace with who I am. My search for the meaning of life is over. I am god. The entire point of life is remembering that. We came here to experience the thrill of waking up, as god, in the playground of physical reality.
To be conscious means to be aware that you are creating your life with your mind. It’s the same thing as “being god”. Once you get a taste of this knowledge and power, it’s impossible to turn around and go back to living by default, where life just happens to you. Nothing happens to you. You created all of this. Because you are god.
How can I remember I am god?
It doesn’t matter if you ever feel like you’re god or not, because you are either way and you’ll remember when you die. But as long as you’re here, why not try it?
To remember that you are god means to achieve a state of inner peace and knowing that all is well. Everything is perfect and in its place. This moment, right NOW, is the main event. To have the knowing that you are god means you are able to step outside of your mind and simply observe, rather than react. To be god means to be okay with any outcome or condition; that is the basis of unconditional love. Your mind will try to resist and doubt that you are god and all is well, but you are much more powerful than your mind. As god, you have access to infinite intelligence. You ARE infinite intelligence.
Abraham-Hicks calls that state of knowing “the vortex”. Abraham puts it simply: your mood is your work. The better your mood, the more love you feel, the closer you are to that state of knowing. When you feel bliss, joy, and power, you feel as god does. You are in alignment with the big picture.
The only way to feel like god is to practice until you get there. We have trained our minds to think that we are imperfect, incomplete, and damaged. We have been told we’re wrong, or bad, or ugly or inappropriate. Changing a lifetime of thinking like that takes practice. But there is nothing to “undo”. Each new thought is an opportunity to create differently; you just have to choose it. Making the choice is the only thing you need to practice. Once you start thinking better feeling thoughts, you attract better feeling thoughts and it gets easier and easier. But it’s up to you to practice choosing the thoughts you desire. The thoughts you choose literally create your life experience. You have all the power, and you don’t have to lift a finger to access it. You just have to practice thinking the way you want to think.
My favorite god tricks
Remembering you are god is like learning magic tricks. With a magic trick, you practice until it looks real. To remember you are god, you practice until it feels real. The more you practice, the more tricks you can do and the more amazing your magic looks. These are the ways I practice remembering what I know. The more I practice, the more joy, love, and power I experience. The more I practice, the easier it gets to be completely at peace with all that is.
You can call the below list ways to practice feeling good, or ways to practice feeling god. It’s the same thing. The more you practice, the more you’ll remember what you already know.
- Gratitude. When I think about what I am grateful for, my thoughts attract more thoughts of gratitude, and begin creating more experiences to be grateful for.
- Meditation. When I stop thought altogether, I am consciously connected to infinite intelligence. Stopping thought is a way to charge your energy stores and release negativity. It is one of the easiest, most powerful ways to find peace. When I take the time to meditate and remember “oh yeah, I don’t have to DO anything, and there is truly no rush” I find the world arranging itself around my needs and desires, rather than me having to find a way to arrange myself in the world. If I make time to meditate, the world makes time for me.
- Appreciation. When I appreciate, my value increases as well as the value of the thing I’m appreciating. When I appreciate, I find more about the topic to appreciate. Appreciation is also a way to communicate telepathically. When you focus on what you appreciate about someone, the next time you see her it will be as if she had heard you. However you think about someone is how you are creating her, and she will always reflect what you are projecting.
- Generosity. When I give, I receive. Since we are all one, giving to you is the same as giving to myself, except now there is double, because we both get to experience the feeling of abundance.
- Thinking about what I want and LETTING GO of each desire. When I ask, and believe, I receive. Instantly. The only thing preventing you from getting what you want are resistant thoughts and negativity. When you truly let go of something, that means you don’t care if you get it or not. You’re okay with any outcome. And when you release that resistance, the outcome you desire has no choice but to come. When you let go of thoughts like “I really need that,” your thoughts stop creating a reality where you remain in a state of need.
- Thinking the thoughts I would think if I had what I wanted. Thoughts create. If I think and act as if I already have what I want, it has no choice but to come.
- Practicing feelings. We often turn to philosophy when we feel bad – and try things like “being present”. But if you are present when you feel good, not just when you feel bad, you get to bask in and milk the delicious feeling you want more of. ANY time you feel really good, be present. Take note of every detail, so you can remember what it feels like when you don’t feel as good later. If you can remember that feeling and practice it, you’ll get to experience it more and more.
- Play. The universe is playful. God is playful. The entire premise of reality is that god is playing hide and seek with himself. Any form of play is a direct connection to god. Flirt. Play with flow toys. Pretend. Be with children. NOTHING in life is serious. It’s all just supposed to be fun. When you play, you remember that!
- Art. Drawing mandalas is like drawing a fractal by hand. Doodling releases your inner creative flow. Any sort of self expression that feels good is a brilliant illustration of your creative power.
- Exercise. Moving your body gets you out of your mind and into the Now. It always feels good. When you exercise, you allow your body to do what it knows how to do. You get to experience the bliss of having a physical body. And you don’t have to think much!
- Look for clues. Everything in your reality is a reflection of your thoughts and feelings. But even if that reality is reflecting negative thoughts, it is still trying to help you. When you see something you don’t like, be aware that you put it there, and it is a blessed indicator helping you to know to think differently. Be present and watch your reality. What is it trying to tell you? What thoughts is it reflecting? What is the solution?
- Be in the Now/the Vortex/the flow. When I am present and feeling good, I am in a state of openness and allowing. I am able to see and accept gifts from the universe. I am able to flow with well being. I am able to let life live me. All of these tricks are just ways to be in the Now. The Now truly is the main event. Welcome to heaven.

I’m still learning how to love and accept my physical body as the perfect terminal to the universe that it is. I’ve wanted to be “thinner” my entire life. Today I said to myself, “if you think you’ll be happier when you’re thinner, just do it already.” Then I finally realized: I can choose to be happy now, or I can put it off until I’m “thinner”. Why wait? I’m already perfect.
Who knows if being thinner would make me happier. I know what I really want – to feel loved. And I can love myself right now.

I decided I wanted to help more people get websites, because it’s so fun, easy and rewarding. I asked Kelly, “how can I get the clients I want?” She told me to focus on the feeling I got from setting up sites. It feels like abundance! It feels like fun! It feels like giving something valuable that I have an infinite supply of!
I decided to experiment and not do anything to get clients. I practiced the feelings I wanted a couple times, and then totally forgot about my desire.
Now the clients are pouring in. I promise you, it works. You don’t have to DO anything!! Just decide what you want, focus on the feeling you’ll get from it, and let it go. It’s already on the way! BELIEVE IT!

What you think about you bring about. When you feel good, you attract good feeling thoughts, which create good feeling experiences and physical manifestations. Your emotions indicate how close your thoughts are to the thoughts the god within you thinks. When you feel elation, you are creating in harmony with source energy/the universe/god/your higher self. Your thoughts are loving, trusting, and knowing, thus creating experiences that produce the same feeling.
Once you experience the feeling of true knowing a few times (which feels like complete trust in the universe, understanding that the world is magick, realizing you are a perfect being creating in a perfect world and that you are loved and cared for by something much bigger than your intellect), you get a sense of what life is really supposed to be like. Pure bliss. Fun magick. A perfect and playful unfolding of love.
That feeling of knowing is the only thing you need to solve every single “issue” in your life.
Forget logic, forget trying to figure it all out. Our rational intellect is an artificial intelligence that cannot comprehend our infinite nature. It can be a distraction from the core truths that every single one of us already knows.
How to feel knowing
You can practice the feeling of knowing, which attracts knowing thoughts, which create experiences that provide the feeling of knowing. The more you practice the feeling and have experiences that give you the feeling, the more you’ll see the manifestations of your desires. They might not show up exactly how you want them, but the manifestation will give you the feeling you’re after.
When you feel knowing, you trust that the universe is on your side. You understand that when you ask, it is given. You are free to have a new desire, trust the universe will bring it, and let it go. When you feel knowing, you don’t worry about what happens if it doesn’t come. You already know it will.
Your expectations are what determine what manifests in your experience, and your expectations are based on beliefs. Your beliefs are based on thoughts you think over and over. When all of your thoughts come from a place of knowing, you expect your wishes to be granted. You expect to be cared for by the universe.
And so you are.
Try it yourself!
To practice the feeling of knowing, recall an instance when you’ve felt it before. Try remembering a time when:
- you witnessed a miracle and couldn’t explain it logically
- you had a bad problem and it all worked out better than you could have imagined
- you felt flow – when you performed your best effortlessly without thinking
- you felt incredible after an intense workout or physical challenge
- you trusted a higher power to answer your prayers, and it worked
- you meditated and felt connected to your higher self
Any memory you have that gives you a feeling of relief to recall is helping you practice the feeling of knowing. I like remembering the first time I played with Astrojax, or the euphoria I felt after a perfect workout when my body surprised me with what it knew, or the relief I felt when seeing my higher self in the mirror for the first time.
Spend a few minutes a day recalling your memory of knowing and try to truly feel the same way you felt. The more you practice, the more knowing thoughts you’ll attract, and the more you’ll see your knowing reflected back to you in physical reality. You’ll get the money you need and wonder why you were ever worried in the first place. Your body will heal itself and you’ll remember it is much more powerful than you sometimes give it credit for. Your relationships will deepen and you’ll experience mind-blowing synchronicities.
You already know that you are a perfect, brilliant creator living in the most delicious now imaginable. All you have to do to live that reality is take the time to remember as often as you can.
Isn’t it a relief to know that all you need is a feeling of knowing, and that the feeling of knowing feels like relief?

On my birthday I got tired and threw a tantrum like a toddler. I am so used to feeling good all the time, that when I went without sleep for too long I started losing my focus and ability to control my thoughts. This pissed me off so much, because it was my birthday! And I wanted to milk the shit out of my birthday! I couldn’t just GO TO SLEEP!
I had a freakout and started crying hysterically, feeling painfully lonely. Because if we are all one, and I feel bad, then that means everything feels bad and how am I ever going to feel better if there is only me and I feel bad?
What I know
I took a nap and Kelly comforted me, asking me to tell her what I know. This is a great exercise to use when you feel negative emotion and don’t know how to get out of it. It’s a method of working your way up the emotional scale with your thoughts.
The exercise has worked for us many times in the past, so I was willing to try. The following is a paraphrase of what I said:
I know I want to drink vodka.
I know I feel bad.
I know I feel lonely.
I know I feel depressed and sad.
I know that I have a choice of how to feel.
I know that I’m choosing to feel this way.
I know that I am choosing to stay this way.
I know that I want to feel better.
I know I want to feel love.
I know that I’m so tired of directing my thoughts.
I know that I don’t have to do what anyone else wants me to.
I want to feel loved and I know that all I have to do to feel love is give it but I DON’T WANT TO!
I know I can choose to go to sleep and feel better.
I know that it feels better to go see my sister than it does to wallow at home in this bad mood.
Then I was feeling better enough to get out of bed and go hang out with my sister. From the moment I walked in the door to see her and my good friend Betty, I felt such enormous relief. They gave me gifts and cards and vodka and I was so touched I couldn’t help crying.
I chose to do the work to feel better, and the universe rewarded me for it. I thought about what I wanted and what felt the best to do. By following my emotional guidance system, I was able to get back into the flow of the universe and watch my life unfold magickally again, like it’s supposed to. I got out of the way.
By choosing to follow my emotions and do what felt the best, the universe gave me everything I asked for: vodka, feeling better, and feeling LOVED. I realized at my sister’s place that I have so much love stored up vibrationally that the universe keeps bringing me good things even when I have a “temporary out-of-the-vortex moment.”
Whenever I find myself in a bad mood, or out of alignment with source energy/flow/the divine pulse of life, all I have to do is listen to my emotions and I can jump right back in the flow. It only takes one conscious decision to find thoughts that feel better. It can be hard, hard work. But when I got out of my funk the relief and love I felt was equal to the despair I felt just an hour earlier.
There is no loneliness in love
Our physical reality is a result of old thought patterns. And I’ve been spending a lot of time having thoughts of love. Now when I find myself temporarily in a terrible mood, I know that my physical reality is still in the process of manifesting all my loving thoughts. I am loved by my own vibration.
I can always choose to allow the universe to flow through me. When I connect to that flow, I weave magick through my life. I hypnotize, travel between alternate states and dream worlds, and learn more about the meaning of life constantly.
We connect to the flow of well being with love. When we love, we feel joy, and knowing. Love is the reason we are here. Love is the most basic concept, or unit of knowledge that we have. We all know how to love. And that’s the only thing we need to know.
Everything always unfolds perfectly. Just tune yourself to the flow and enjoy the ride. Love is your connection to source. That which created you and all the worlds before you. That which breathes life into you. That which we are all made of. That which makes us one.
The flow of well being is the source of all relief. There is comfort in the ecstasy of life unfolding. Your emotions guide you to merging with this unfolding by telling you what feels good (allowing the flow) and what feels bad (blocking the flow). When you follow what feels good, you allow yourself to be one with the universe. And when you are one with the universe, life feels as magickal as it truly is.

Your thoughts create your reality. That means you make everything in it. Every person, every place, every experience. Not only do you create it all, but everything you make in your reality then makes more. People you create think. Situations you craft expand. Feelings you practice grow.
Everything is literally you, forever expanding. That’s why you become more prosperous the more you share. Whatever you do for the whole you also do for yourself. What you do for someone else you do for yourself.
The Golden Rule is the only rule in life design. Treat others how you want to be treated. Including yourself.
- To feel loved, I love. My perception of myself is how others perceive me.
- To feel abundant, I give. Abundance is in the joy I feel when I give it away.
- To gain knowledge, I share. My ideas give you new ideas give me new ideas.
- To feel valued, I appreciate. When I appreciate, my value grows.
Helping other people feels good because you are literally helping yourself. You are helping your creations flourish. You are the creator, take care of your babies. Love them. How could you not love them when you made them and they are you???
Give them your money, compliment them! They are your creations! However you can help them improve helps you! And the more you help other people flourish, the more they can help you flourish! The point of life is to LIVE!

In Life Design Lesson 1, the activity is to write the “About page of your dreams” to publish on your website. Picture yourself in a week, a month, or a year, where do you want to be? Then write your About page from the perspective of already being there.
The exercise brings you closer to what you want because it’s a way to practice the vibration of already having it. You become a vibrational match to the solution, allowing the desire to manifest in your life experience.
One reason why lifestreamers have such cool lives is because they continuously reinvent themselves to more closely match their higher selves, or their furthest most expanded selves. Gala Darling says, “I have been writing ‘about me’ pages for the web for 13 years!” Constantly rewriting your bio is a way to get closer and closer to who you know you really are.
I’ve had the same about page for at least a month now. I started feeling like my life was slowing down, and I realized it’s because I’ve become what I’ve written! I need fresh desires to catch up to, so I’ve started asking myself what my About page says every day.
This is what I said a month ago:
I am a lifestreamer, designer and philosopher. My purpose is to pursue joy and pass the meme.
This is what I said two days ago:
I am a thought leader for generation Y. I practice life design on jessicamullen.com and teach lifestreaming and positive psychology through The School of Life Design Forum. My purpose in life is to pursue joy and pass the meme.
I run a lifestream monetization company and information product publishing house called Joystorm with my partner Kelly. We specialize in making your life your living. This is what I said yesterday:
I am pure love. I am pure love refracted into a physical body that can experience love sensually. I am born from love, live from love, and I will die in love. Love is all I am and all I want to be. Every day I become more and more aligned with the love I am made of. I experience love everywhere I go. I choose love above everything else. I am love and you are love and we are all one love.
And this is what I say now:
I love myself and inspire others to do the same.
I can’t wait to see what I’m about tomorrow. The exercise isn’t necessarily to write an ALL ENCOMPASSING bio every morning, but to think of one new line that I want to describe myself. A description of my essence. A new way to love myself more.
Stay in constant connection with your source and never let your desires get stale. A static About page is a static life. Think about who you want to become every day and that’s who you’ll be.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already decided that a conventional path through life is not for you. You want to do the things you love and make money doing them. You don’t want to work for the man, or anyone else. You know you have something important to share with the world. A day job, fancy car and flatscreen TV aren’t going to help you do that.
I felt the same way. So I quit working for other people and started taking my website seriously. Within 6 months, I was making an income from jessicamullen.com.

The School of Life Design Forum

I’m ecstatic that so many of you enjoyed the Gathering Momentum worksheet! I’ve been doing them too, and they’re so fun that I get sad when I’m finished! So of course I needed to make another one!
Self love makes you feel good
I used to waste a lot of life having negative thoughts about myself. Sometimes they still creep in and it is SO ANNOYING! No one should wake up feeling guilty for something delicious they ate, or feel insecure about their inherent beauty! I made the Daily Self Love worksheet to stomp out those negative thoughts for good.
I tested it out to see if it really works. I’m most susceptible to negative thoughts about myself when I first wake up, so I left a worksheet on my bathroom counter and filled it out FIRST THING yesterday. My day was immediately transformed! I hopped in the shower thinking about all the things I’m grateful for, then excitedly went about my awesome day.
I did another one before going to bed last night, when I’m most likely to mindlessly veg out and let my mood drop. It really helped me alter my attitude and go to sleep feeling fantastic!

Worksheet Instructions
Most of the worksheet is self-explanatory, but one section deserves special attention: 3 feelings I want to practice today. First, identify how you would like to feel today. Euphoric? Healthy? Abundant? Write the feelings down and then spend up to a minute practicing each feeling. The idea behind it is that when you practice a specific feeling, you attract experiences into your life that produce the same feeling. So when you take a minute to practice euphoria in the morning, you’ll end up in some euphoric situation in no time!
One method to practice a feeling is to close your eyes and visualize yourself experiencing the feeling. For example, I often want to feel creative inspiration. So I close my eyes and picture how I behave when I am inspired – I’m bouncing all over the place, often typing frantically, completely focused and unable to stop what I’m doing until I’m finished. The important part is that you actually feel the emotion during the exercise. You can’t fake it!

Why you don’t have to feel self-conscious about being positive

Do you ever feel self-conscious about “being positive”? Do you fear others will judge you for “being happy for no reason”? Do you worry that if you fully commit to releasing negative thought, it won’t pay off and people will say “I told you so”?
Worrying about what other people think means you don’t love yourself enough to trust your inner guidance. If you are concerned people will think you’re foolish for choosing thoughts that feel good, then it’s only because you think you are foolish. And if you think you’re being foolish for choosing to feel good over feeling bad, then you’re not loving yourself – because following what you know feels good to you is how you love yourself.
Start feeling good about choosing to feel good!
Life is a mirror. The more positive you are, the more positive your interactions are. The more you give, the more you receive. The more you love yourself, the more you are loved. It’s the law of attraction.
You lead by your powerful example. When you choose to feel good above all else, no one will judge you. They will want to be around you more because you make them feel so good! Positive vibrations are contagious, and when the people around you feel how happy you are, they’ll want to know your secret.
Whatever you believe is true. If you believe thinking positively just isn’t going to help you, then you’re right. If you think it is going to help, then it will! All you have to do is make the leap of faith and believe that your higher self will guide you. Believe in yourself and release all the magick you’ve pent up inside! It’s there if you look, I promise!
By committing to a life of joy, you are choosing to feel happy before you get the “things” that you think will make you happy. Isn’t that a good deal? Think about how fucked up it is for others to think you’re silly for deciding to be happy right now, as you are. Why shouldn’t you be? You’re a beautiful, perfect human being and you deserve nothing but love and happiness. Choosing to feel good right now, instead of waiting until just that one thing changes, is how to start living a life you love now.
