Welcome back to the present moment, where all of your power lies. Where everything is fun and there’s nothing to worry about.
Breathe in and wake up in the dream!
Breathe out and let yourself be here now.
When you are present, when you are waking up in the dream—what are you really doing? What does it mean to be present? Well I’ll tell you! Being present is simply resting as pure awareness, instead of thinking or identifying with your emotions or your experience or your sensations or your thoughts. When you are present, you are here, right now, just observing. You are pure awareness, just experiencing reality.
Breathe in and be that pure awareness.
Breathe out and relax your body.
Who you really are, pure awareness—you don’t have to work to be there. It’s effortless. It’s who you already are. Pure awareness. You can’t change it. It’s at the root of who you are. There is no killing it. It was never born. Awareness is the one thing in you that never changes. It’s your essence. It’s your source.
Breathe in and be that pure awareness.
Breathe out and reveal the pure awareness.
It’s easy to say with words, “Just be the pure awareness and then everything will be great!” But how do you actually practice that in real life when you have thoughts and emotions and sensations all day every day?
Breathe in and ask yourself, “Am I aware?”
Breathe out and listen for the answer. Am I aware?
The answer is clearly, “Yes I am aware.” And you can ask yourself this question, “Am I aware?” all day, to turn your awareness back in on itself, to witness the witness, observe the observer. Pay attention to your attention.
Breathe in and turn your awareness back in on itself.
Breathe out and witness the witness.
Am I aware? It instantly takes your awareness and turns it back on itself to look at itself. And when you do that, you can see that what you’ve been seeking for is where you’re seeking from! It’s YOU! You’re already it!
Breathe in and be that pure awareness!
Breathe out and just ask yourself, “Am I aware?”
If you want to stay present, if you want to stay as you are, if you want to rest in the knowing of who you really are, without getting pulled and distracted and caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions and sensations:
Breathing in, am I aware?
Breathing out, yes I am aware
Keep asking yourself this question over and over and over until it’s easy for you to keep your awareness turned in on itself, resting as I AM. Resting in your sense of being. Not identified with any thought or emotion. Just resting as you are. That’s where the peace and love and joy and contentment is. Everything you seek is where you’re seeking from!
Breathing in, am I aware?
Breathing out, yes! I am aware!
